Just wanted to say a word about Colonial Knife Co. going out. At least I heard they were going and maybe gone. I know Colonial made a cheaper knife but I have a few of them. I have an old stockman I use out in the yard, etc. I gave around $6 for it years ago and it is a tough old knife. I have an Old Cutler that is real nice little knife. I hate to see any American company go out of business. Not many left to make knives anymore, not in this country at least.

What matters to you matters to you matters to God because you matter to God!

I live in New England and first heard over a year ago that Colonial had gone under. They did make an excellent knife for a low price. Then in an article in the current Blade Magazine, ther is an article about knife companys in the northeast, and the article mentioned that Colonial has emerged from bankruptcy reorganized - that's all I know..it did not mention any details.

There is a note in the last Smoky Mt. Knife Works catalog that Colonial was gone and they were offering a wooden handled stockman as one of the last Colonials. I hope you are right.

I have an old cutler barlow with stag handles, great knife! I read the same thing in smokies catalog, but their have been other companies that have filed bankruptcy and come back, so you never know! It would be a shame as long as they have been around!!!
