I need to ask, in the Sportman Guide catalogs they will not send a knife to the state of Colorado. They claim there is a law that prohibits you from sending a knife into there state that has a blade over 3 1/2 inches long. Is there such a law?
confused???

Nope… I’m not aware of any law like that. There is a state law though that prohibits the concealed carry of knives with a blade longer 3.5 inches.

Hello I have asked this same question, i cannot find answer, there are about four states that do not let fixed blade knives in. I am a custom maker here in Colorado i would also like to know more. A buddy in Bailey tried to buy from Sporsman Guide and could not so i built what he wanted. If you find out i want to know WHY. Rainman

Thanks cerulean and rainman, I can't find any laws against sending knives to Colorado either. Maybe others will know about Sportsman Guide. thanks

I live in Denver,CO and the people that run this city like to impose house rule.
So, I would start here http://pweb.netcom.com/~brlevine/appr-k.htm

From what I have read of Denver's law anything over 3.5" = a weapon
However there is a strong belief that a fixed baled over 3" also = a weapon

But then again the wording also includes alot of things that could= a weapon.
The wording is very confusing for a reason,if they want you you they got you.
