I apologize if this is old news. The search menu doesn't work for me.

My question is: Can I carry a 6 inch blade hunting knife in state parks if it is located inside my backpack? If it is illegal, what probable action would be taken by the police? How can I prove that it is a "fishing or hunting knife"?
Thanks

Here is a thread about Colorado knife law:

I would say that they would consider you to still be in possession of it if it were in your backpack. As far as how to convince them it is for fishing or hunting, I'm not sure. I would probably make sure it "looked" like a fishing or hunting knife and hope they would be understanding.

Many states have an exemption for people hunting or fishing, not sure why Colorado doesn't.
