Well, if nothing comes up to stop us, we will be headed for Colorado Saturday, the 31st. Will be a pleasure to get away from this south Texas heat and humidity for awhile.

First stop, Mesa Verde, then Lake City, on to Loveland and the Estes Park area. We plan on stopping at Manitou on the way back south.

I will be headed there on saturday as well. Gonna be camping in the grandjuction or montrose area with my old highschool buddies.

Boy do I need it.

Cool. We too are heading to the "danelle" state, leaving late Saturday. Heading to Almont to ride the rapids of the Talor river.

I lived in Loveland for 6 years. Graduated HS there. Stop at 4207 N County Road 27. I think I left the gas on. :p Before you head up the canyon to Estes Park, buy everything you need down in Loveland. Stuff is expensive up there. It's beautiful up there. The Big Thompson Canyon is amazing. Just watch for sheep and elk.

Thanks for the advice Planterz. We were in Colorado in the late 70's but ran out of time and didn't make it to Estes Park. Lake City and Loveland are the two main areas that I want to see. My wife wants to go to Mesa Verde National Park at Cortez first and look at the cliff dwellings. We are really looking forward to "getting away" for awhile.

Fun! I love Estes Park. I will post my cell number here so put it in your phone and call me if you find yourself lost, drunk, or in jail. Seriously, if you need anything at all, gimme a call. I'm in Arvada, which is just outside of Denver. 303-523-1044

Thanks Danelle, we are in Cortez at this time, 8/2. Will leave here in the morning for Durango, Silverton, Ouray, and Montrose. We should be in the Estes Park area next Sat.
This is the first time I have found a computer available to guests at a motel.
