Is it true they're not making Sebenza's with the colored Damascus anymore???

The blue and the bronze blades were HOTTTT

no mas!!!!:grumpy:

get them wherever theyre left!

I have a hot blued holy schnikees ya gotta see it!:D

They were hot but I believe they blemished easily. As far as I know they have been discontinued. They looked nice but I wouldn't want to buy a knife that I couldn't at least use.

The CRK shop foreman I spoke with at a recent knife show confirmed that they blemish very easily. Sure do look fine though.

There is a new Kalgard clear coat that the CR factory is starting to use on carbon Damascus blades. I got a small Classic with this coating on a stainless Damascus one. It is still in the trial period for all I know(the coating). I can tell you this though; this stuff is tuff! I also noticed that the blade, which would normally be etched grey, now has a blueish tint to it with the addition of this coating; kind of sheen if you will. Nice! With a little luck, Chris will re-introduce the colored etched blades back with this new coating to protect and prevent faiding. ;)

Humpty:
I was told that by using the colored damascus on something like an apple or orange, it would permanately stain the blade.

The blue and bronze is no longer offered on new orders. That is for sure. They are honoring existing orders that were put in before the 'cut-off', which was around the first of the year. I was told by a rep of CRK that they scratch too easily if used. Not sure about the fading part?
