Colored Handle Question

I have had my new Mini CQC-7 for about a week now and I love it! I already have plans for my next one. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if they have ever made or make a khaki / tan colored handle version? I really would like a khaki handle and clip to blend into my shorts I wear 95% of the time. I do have plans on trying to paint my clip to see what that will look like and see if it holds up for awhile.

There have been desert tan knives made but they are not in the regular line up and
are probably going to be rather hard to find, if you can find one for sale at all.
I'm also not sure if 7s were mande in DT, I think it may have only been the Commander.

Thanks for the info. I read in another thread where you make your own g10 handles? Do you make handles for other folks;) ?

I do indeed do other peoples knives, I'm a bit swamped with stuff just now though unfortunately.

I saw your red 7 and it looked awesome! What ya think stonewash or black blade with khaki handle? :)

Here is a Mini Commander that I did with Bocote scales. Kinda takes some of the "tacticool" look out of it.

I’m pleased so far. It is a close grained and stiff wood. All it has on it is a little lemon oil to bring out the color. It will darken some due to UV rays.

I only posted it because you were asking about the khaki color with a stonewashed or black blade and it was the closest that I had for a reference.

I will be making some for my CQC7s eventually. Maybe purpleheart or zebrawood…. whatever I can find around the shop.

Mostly for fun nowdays... custom pieces, special projects and repairs/refinishes of vintage instruments for friends and acquaintances.
