I wanted to give the g-10 handles on my sere 2000 a tiger stripe camoflage paint job. I was wondering how I would go about this. Is there a specific type of paint or dye that I should use? Is it even possible to get it to stick to G-10? Should I refrain for fear of destroying the grip on the handle? Hopefully one of you has experimented with this type of thing and can help me out. Thanks.

i think the colours on g10 is in the resin, and if u want to add colours afterwards then is paint of some kind and that will never stick as good as if the material was coloured from the beginning

spray paint ! thats all you need! popozow!:p

worst comes to worse, you can have it beadblasted and have it as good as new.

p.s. preferably flat paint. glossy might be a bit tacky(taste-wise)

p.p.s. if you decide to go with spray paint, dont skimp out. try using the paint thats designed for engine blocks or stuff like that.
(Although not in any way related to coloring g10, I use spray paint to paint designs on Tshirts every once in a while. and every brand reacts to the fabric drasticly different. Some brands stay on top of the fabric and color fantasticly, some look like they loose all pigmentation and soak straight into the fibers, and everything in between.)

M Wadel - I figured that it wouldnt stick as well as if it was precolored, but I dont think that I can find scales that come with tigerstripe camo.

Knife Collector - again, i dont think that they manufacture scales with the pattern that I would like to use.

Drano - I had never considered bead blasting to remove the paint. I might give the spray paint a shot once I decide what colors I want to use.

Thanks for the advice everyone.

bead blasting is the way they texture g10 in the first place.
dont know exactly, but i think the process blasts away some of the phenolic matrix from the fibers.
