Can I simply take a blow torch to a Ti handled knife and color it like a Strider or similar, or is it more involved. Whats the Process. any input is appreciated. thanks in advance:D

Well it seems nobody knows what I'm talking about. so I'm going to get a high powered blow torch and rock it out, and see what happens. I'll post pics when finished, or the handles melt, LOL. anyone done this? I could use some advice before I get started. thanks.

I have done it with a TI framed Leek. I found it hard to get the colors just right. I think you just have to go slow, heat it too much and it looks bad. You can also sand it down and start over if it dosn't come out good.

Edit to add that you won't melt the handle. However the ball detent on my leek has never been right since I took a torch to it.

UPDATE, I took the whole knife apart, because I didn't want to melt the washers. It seems I can make any pattern I want, it just colors itself with heat. pretty neat. I wonder how Strider gets every knife to look almost exactly the same on the ti side, they must have a pattern they blow the heat through. Thanks for the links

Did you find that it locked up differently than it did before?
I've heard that the ceramic ball could fall out also.
