Can anyone tell me the value of a Colt Target .22 pistol? It has a 6 inch bull barrel. It is in great condition with the case it came in and both mags. I cant seem to find much info on the net about it so I thought I would ask here. Thanks
Tom

:) What kind of Colt is it? Woodsman, Huntsman, Woodsman Sport, there were several versions of this gun. With the barrel you mentioned it may be a Match Target. Check gunsamerica.com you should be able to get an idea on the value.

Thanks for the site Holbrook. I found one just like mine except for the barrel length. Evidently the gun is just called the Colt Target. It has a stainless upper and synthetic lower. I bought mine new 5 or 6 years ago and have had several offers for it recently but couldent find any info on it. I cant post pics but it is on the third page of the Colt .22 pistol section of the site you recommended.

I believe you are right shappa. I couldnt find any pics of the cadet except for a parts print on a colt site. I did find an article from 1994 stating that the cadet was being renamed the "Colt .22 single action". That is what is printed on the box along with "Target" this must be because of the bull barrel.
Thanks

Mine is marked "Colt 22". I've seen the Cadet and it is basically the same model. They were only made for a few years in the 90's. My paper work calls it a "Colt 22 pistol"
I bought mine for $219 in '98, the one I saw on GunsAmerica was asking $325. There is also a Cadet for $475.

The Colt 22 Target was made from 1995-1999 and is a varient of the Colt 22 with a longer barrel and adjustable sights. Last MSRP was $377. 22nd Edition of the Blue Book lists it as follows
  • 100% $290
  • 98% $225
  • 95% $190

There's one on Gunbroker right now for $299 ($325 But it Now) +25 PP in NIB condition.

That's the one I got.
Still haven't shot it yet.
Don't remember what i paid for it .
got it from Dad.

What's that discoloration on the front of the trigger gaurd?

What appears to be discoloration is really not normally visible. It looks to be a slight difference in texture that reflected light in the photo.

It's a nice little auto to teach new shooters with. I like to have at least one of each action type with me when I've got newbies with me.
