Hello everyone!

I bought Colt Canoe knife recently and mailman brought it today. I bought my girl friend Buck Canoe knife and fell in love with the pattern. I decided to get one for myself.

Absintheur (sorry if name is wrong) recomended Colt, a bit more expensive than Rough Riders. I liked the knife he had and saw the exact same model CT209 in sale for known auction site for $20.

So what do you get $20? Yes, its China made. I didn't had much expectations for the price point. Buck was nice surprise for $16 though one of scales corner protruted bit before sanding it clean.

Colt has very impressive walk and talk. Half stop blades with really nice snap. Long pulls and flat ground stainless steel (probably 420 variety) It came razor sharp out of box. Now fit is very, very good. Better than most Case knives. There was barely seen light thru springs and liners when looked against sun. Few minor gaps were there but it was very nicely fit, especially considering the price point.

Finish was bit rougher. Main blade sat tad too high and exposed the tip. 2 mins with coarse whetstones to lower main blade fixed problem nicely. There are sime minor none perfections in the knife but for $20 price this is awesomely fit and finished. Main blade was hugging towards liner but wasn't rubbing against the liner. Main blade was rubbing bit against smaller blade leaving marks on main blade but its minor grievance for this price point.

Shortly: Excellent fit with some rougher finish. Colt Canoe provides far better F&F as can be expected for the price point.

I agree. The Colts are nice knives. I don't have that Canoe but i have both large and small double lockback Canoes, as well as nearly every other pattern in this brown jigged bone, some in the black stag, black smooth bone and a bunch of their tactical style ones. no problems with any of them and what i like best is every blade is well ground and shaving sharp.
