It's probably strong enough, and if it isn't you're only out $20. I'd suggest dedicated throwing knives if that's your end-use of the knife. Cold Steel makes some reasonably priced throwers.
 
While it's probably sturdy enough to handle being thrown a few times, I'd recommend an actual "throwing knife" for the job. They're much better balanced and are built specifically to take the impact. As Silvanus suggested, CS makes pretty solid throwers for the money. Just don't expect them to stay sharp forever, as they're run rather soft to avoid chipping and breaking on impact.
