I ordered one last night, strictly an impulse buy which is not usual for me. I don't know a thing about this knife other than the blurb on the website.

-did a quick search of the forums here, but nothing found.

It just looked too nice to pass up

I always kind of wondered about those too. Let us know how you like it when it arrives.

I have one of the rescue bladed ones with the hooked blade, that came from the Eickhorn maker. It has the orange handle. It is actually a pretty slick knife. I keep it in the glove box of my car for emergency purposes. It has that tungsten striker tip for breaking glass and the nifty fold-out spike. It's a little different than the Colt model, but made by the same company with the same specs otherwise. It is rather hefty in feel, and is easy to take apart. It is definitely not for daily carry, as it is bulky too. I use mine to cut wildflowers on the side of the road, but the serrated edge would easily cut through a seatbelt or clothing. The lock is also (intentionally) not too tough. It takes only mild pressure on the tip to push it back in (a bump on any hard surface straight-on). This is also for safety purposes, as the original design was for parachutists is the German army. The folding spike is nearly as long as the handle, and slip-joint kind of lock holds it in place. This makes a great pry-bar or ice pick, and can be sharpened to a nice point, but comes rather blunt. That's about all I can say. It's a fun knife to have around, but it is limited in it's usefullness.
