Hi everyone,

new on the Sword Discussion. As title says; "Colt D-Guard Short Sword". Anyone having any experience with this one?

Thanks in advance.

You have it? Old, new? Can you post pictures? If it's the one that shows up in my web search, it's a Pakistan-made Bowie knife made to replicate the D-guard bowies of the Civil War era. What in particular were you wanting to know?

Pakistan's best ;) A travesty. They might as well get the licensing from other firearm companies . 440a stainless. Nice horsey on a good looking scabbard. No belt, boot or pocket clip. Fifty bucks of "why on earth?" with a stag grip. I guess it will impress water bottles and wildlife (as well as anyone that really needs one). There had been something similar through Cabela's some years ago, sold as a "historic" trappers/mountain man's sword. The 18" bladed sword is longer than the D guard bowie.

Cheers

Saw one at a local web-shop- just curious, Colt use to be a trademark of something of high quality, with tons of historically background to back it up. The knife looks good from pics and as The Zieg points out D-Guard bowie Civil War era, yes thats the one i`m on about. 440s stainless. Sad story.

Thanks guys
