Colt Gunsite 1911, Springfield TRP, or Kimber TLE?

I'm about to order a new toy today, and I'm kinda leaning toward the Colt Gunsite Pistol, but the TRP and TLE are much cheaper. Which one would you choose, and for those of you that own one of these models.....any problems?

You're getting into Ed Brown money... something to think of! Out of those three choices, I'd always pick Colt. I personally don't care for the front cocking serrations look though.

Don't look for a bargain in a 1911 unless you are very friendly with a good gunsmith. The Gunsite pistol looks ok, otherwise I would check out the semi-custom makers, such as Wilson, Les Baer, and Ed Brown. The one low-end Springfield 1911 I bought was the loosest, most unreliable, most inaccurate, rattletrap piece of junk I've ever owned. I'll never look at a factory 1911 again.

Your right. I have a Wilson CQB and it is a great gun, and I wouldn't mind having a Yobo. I went ahead and purchased the Colt.

You bet. I will post some pics of it and give a range report when she gets hers. Should be tomorrow. Thanks to those of you that gave your opinion. I am interested to see how the poll turns out anyway.


Mongo, I know what you mean about the cheese grater, and I wish I could have gotten this one without.

on all things 1911 imho kimber is #1, have just had better luck with them vs colt/etc, have heard colts are getting better though.
