Colt Lightweight Commander - barrel has been throated to feed ANYTHING :)

Grips are Larry Davidson LIZZARD HORNED Black and Tan G-10

I am loving this gun as a carry piece! Weighs about the same as my Glock 26 but has a bigger bullet and hides as easy :)

You have some fine taste in handguns! Sweet Colt! I love the grips too. The ONLY thing I don't like is the front serrations... a personal thing I guess. I have a CCO, which is similar. If I didn't live in the god-forsaken state of Illinois, it would be my CCW.

Its funny you mention that. I noticed those also and I'm not sure. They looked a little odd but they probably could be very practical. They have kind of grown on me also.

Your right though, it is certainly a personal thing and lest I forget to mention it. Both pistols look excellant.

Nice looking target Mongo. I don't see any powder burns on the paper but I don't know exactly how far the target was. :p :D

KR, from what I understand, the front serrations are to be able to do a press check. I think that once brand K started putting them there, everyone had to do it as a fashion statement.

Target was at 25 yards, three clips worth shot as fast as sight picture could be reacquired... one flyer though.:o I shoot my CCO more accurately than my Colt Govt, which doesn't make sense to me. A 5" barrel/sight line and all steel gun should inherently be more accurate than a 4.25" aluminum officer's frame gun. I won't argue though... just means I need to practice with the Govt. more often.

I'm partial to the original Colt style rear serrations. I've seen some pistols that had matching forward serrations and those are the only forward serrations I've liked.

Truthfully I've never had a problem press-checking a standard 1911.

I've been pinching the front of the slide in the web of my hand (over the top, or from underneath with my thumb and fingers) to cycle it and to press check since before any of my guns had front serrations. They certainly do help if you choose to make use of them.

Goode, that's one BEAUTIFUL pistola! I would much rather have it than anybody's little sawed-off, chopped-down, piss-ant, baby 1911 .45! :D

They make a 1911 that uses clips?

Took the words right out of my mouth...

However, you do have an absolutely gorgeous 1911- I love the clean lines.

Brian: what a looker! The grips reall it off.

Oh bite me! So I had a Dan Quayle moment. I should know better.:o

So, let me correct that... "Target was at 25 yards, three MAGAZINES worth..."

I believe front serrations originally started to ease cocking of pistols with big old dot scopes on them....

I tell ya what... since today is my birthday, can you please box that beauty up and send it to me? I'll PM you my FFL.;) :D
