Columbia "D.O.G." vs snap lock

I'm considering two rather different knives from Columbia River for fairly utilitarian purposes. (small jobs and a modicum of security – the HI kukris take care of the rest) The D.O.G. design seems like one of the more secure locking systems I’ve stumbled across, but I was wonder how much more so than the "snap lock" Columbia also sells.

I can't really tell how the latter locks out and if it depends entirely on grip pressure or what. Does anyone have any experience with them, especially vs. the dog? Thanks

Chris

I don't think the second is available from CRKT yet, haven't seen any around. Some forumites might have experience with a custom version or a proto.

The bolt-action lock variants from the reputable companies are almost always very reliable and heavy duty.

The D.O.G folder is a very heavy folder.I think the snap lock is a much lighter knife. Its like comparing a Buck 110 to a Gerber LST.
