Good evening everyone.

I am a new member to Blade Forums, just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the C.R.K.T SLIDE SHARP? Somewhat new to collecting and just wanting anyone's thoughts on this system or if there is a better system out there but comparable in price?

Thanks in advance,

Tom

I just watched a video on the product. I think it's goofy at best. It's trying to remove the angle holding component of sharpening and trying to make it dead simple, which sharpening isn't. It's not that it's hard, it's just that there are core principles to sharpening that you have to understand to use ANY sharpening system and this one doesn't address them in any way. Will it work? I'll bet I could get good edges with it on blades that were only a bit dull. But is it better in some way than other systems? Not that I can see.

If you like this type of system the SharpMaker is solid, well respected, portable, easy to set up (much easier than the slide sharp), and sort of similar. You'll still need to understand the core principles of sharpening. As you would with any system. :)
