It has taken me over 6 months of " should I " buy this knife !
A) Sheath is rubbish
B) Factory edge / bevel was rubbish .
C) I had to do a 100% new edge for the knife .
D) The guard / metal front cover is lose

Turns out the knife is as cheaply made as I imagined / feared !
New edge is 60 grit and 20 degrees .
Edge rolled bad enough by 300 slices to call a stop .
Edge roll looks to have started ( Noticed ) around 150 slices ..
Yeah a 20 degree edge rolled .. Or did it ?
Cos it's a 100% fresh edge , did I leave a bur behind ?
Anyways , when I ran the blade over the pine , you can see in the video the edge grab the wood .
And after a little wood strop , it sliced paper !
There might have to be a take two .....

Aaaargh ! Some days !

Ok , back to the rope !
250 slice fail with a rolled edge ..
WTPL ( What the Parking Lot )

????????
I decided to get the guided knife sharpener out .
And put down a 22 degree bevel .. ( secondary bevel )
The edge chipping !!!!!! = ????? Hu !!!

Ok , so looks like the wet stone grinder lay down a all mighty BUR !
One that would s not strop away .

So out with my new Guided Knife Sharpener ..
And I lay down a 600 Grit Diamond cut 22 degree bevel .
Which was then cleaned up with a 1500 grit Oxide Stone .
May be Bur rest in peace ! ( I hope )

Looks like I have to do this again ! ( Cut rope )

Oh man !
So I put the knife on the guided knife sharpener .. Mentioned already .

Result was another 250 slice rolled edge ..
Looks like this knife has little in the way of toughness ... ( Rolled edge @ 22 deg )
At least the edge strops back strong ..
Did I mention HRC ?
55 HRC file bites and 50 HRC file skates ..

Back to the 60 grit tests .............
