with apologies for being late on this hawk to the brother who owns it, i think this will be worth the wait.

this is a new Gen 1 Mk V BUG Hawk.

it is an improved version of an old favorite style of Gen 1 Hawks; the Christian Comanche.

it has no seam where the skin meets on the Strike Plate. The whole thing looks like it just grew in place. First of its kind. It really feels nice.

the Epoxy Vapor Coat strengthens the finish on the Snake Skin Micarta veneer, and an acrylic UV coat knocks down its IR signature and glare, and will protect it from lots of fun in the sun.

The Gen 1 Mk V's all have an internal structural element that makes them tougher than their forebears, but i put a ring of extra structural material around the base of this BUG head, fearing the abuse its owner was going to hand it.

i might have to make that a regular addition to the Mk V's, i really like how it turned out.

just need to round up some removeable end plugs and she will be good to go in the mail.

hope the Investor likes it.

Keep praying for the humble Hawk Project!

and thanks for lookin'....

VEC* If the handle breaks "eventual with my use will break"
How you will cover the expense! I mean I don't know nothing concerning warranty!?
For example I bought for you the hawk, the handle break ok; I sent the the Hawk that I bought for you for repair....It will cost me money.
Your maintenance will cost me money maybe!?
And after that everything is finished you must sent the adjusted hawk to me..more money!
How much you warranty will cover exactly...how works?

i haven't seen any of our handles break without gross abuse, but knock yourself out, brother. we'll cover you.

keep in mind that we make Custom Hawks with balanced heads and endo-/exo-skeletal composite handles - if you are going to be throwing your hawk predominantly for instance, we can just harden the hawk to take that constant abuse, but at a small weight penalty - which is getting away from what a true tomahawk is, in regards to weight and balance. - most people can't tell the difference, but after all the different hawks that i have made, a change of a few grams is noticeable to me, as is changes in the balance of the hawks.

this ain't no plastic pole.

if you make a hawk heavy, you might as well just go buy a 20 dollar hatchet IMHO. - most folks will call anything a tomahawk and tell you its the best. i always want to tomahawk fight them for money when they say that.

i'd be filthy rich.

if you are using your hawk to split aged hickory, that's just dumb. - but we will still cover it with the Happiness Guarantee! - but we will laugh at you.:thumbup:

you might not have an issue anyways.

i wish folks would learn to use their tools wisely, but that is not the culture and i can't do anything about it, so i just give the Happiness Guarantee and don't worry about it anymore... a hawk as a weapon is less likely to be as stressed as some of the things i have seen hawks used for as tools; i have seen Gen 1 hawks cut down huge seasoned old trees, used as a grappling hook, used to climb trees, used as an anchor, used underwater to break open shipwrecks, and a lot of other things i never expected to see my hawks doing, or do i recommend doing. - but it's not my hawk, it's your hawk - do what you want with it, we will cover you.

all these abuses were from people who became very close friends, and we have improved our hawks a lot because of the information that they gave us.

How much you warranty will cover exactly...how works?

We have an Unconditional Happiness Guarantee.

in most cases we will just talk it over and decide what the best thing is to do.

usually if there is an issue, the Investor wants to pay for everything because it was his fault - he shot his tomahawk or something, etc. (but it still worked) ...we don't like doing that -we just ask to be told what happened - it helps us make a better tomahawk - so we learn from the issue - we don't care whose fault it is, we just want to make a better tomahawk, and everything is an opportunity to learn.

i think the most that we request is that the person pays to ship the hawk back to us on his charge, and we send the new one back to him on his. - this happens so little, we really don't have a rule except "make them happy."

if we can't make you happy, we will refund the money, replace the hawk, whatever works for you.

we try to go beyond what people expect of us.

that's our Happiness Guarantee.

if an issue comes up with a hawk we make, all we ask is a chance to fix it before an Investor complains all over the Internet.

we consider ourselves a Service - our job is to keep you equipped, and give you a chance to update at an affordable price.

we don't want you to just use your hawk, we want you to love it.

we don't want customers.

we want true friends.

ya don't mess with your friends.

we've made quite a lot of hardcore relationships because of the humble Hawk Project that will last a lifetime, i think. we aim to keep doing business that way.

we've never had an Investor that was unreasonable. when he finally comes along and he can't be satisfied, we will just cut him a check and smile.

mean people suck, anyways. that kind of person is his own reward.

so be happy, brother.:D

PS - i am taking off for the desert tomorrow for a couple things with the ECO Hawk and some other projects, like making sure my friends' camps are beer-free. - i might be back in a couple days, or it might be a week - Erica can answer any questions any brother here has (see her e-mail in my signature) thanks a bunch, and i will see you cool catz soon.

Sory for the inquisition:) Nice to know:thumbup:

not at all, brother - i appreciate the questions, since we do so little to advertise and market and such....

i want folks to know everything about us, we just want to stay square.

the tough questions help a lot.

thanks again.

this may be a dumb question but i sure cant figure it out...what is the length of paracord thats running length ways down the handle used for?

PayetteRucker,

You got it. Thanks for posting the answer. Vec's out camping this week, so I'll try my best to answer questions. I'm just not as technically savvy. Glad you guys have got our back!

What’s the chopper with the orange 550 cord on the handle?

sorry to be late getting back, brother. - i just got back from the desert for five days.

that's a modified Cold Steel Rifleman's head on a Gen 1 Mk V composite handle - i call them "Mjolnirs"

they are my idea of a Battle Axe crossed with a Forest Axe - i got rid of my Gransfors Bruks axes (which i think are superb) when i started making the Mjolnirs a few years ago.

the modified heads which 24 ounces, plus about half an ounce per inch of Gen 1 Mk V handle, so they are lively and light while being built to do some heavy work.

'really good potential for hammer first combatives in melee IMHO.

thanks for asking.
