Hello,
I would like to show you this combat dagger prototype that my friend Rodrigo (2gknives.com) from Mallorca recently made.
The design is based on famous daggers as V42, Fairbairn Sykes and Applegate Fairbairn, with the idea in mind to have a dagger that serves as general combat knife as well.
Normally he does Scagel style knifes, this time it's a little more tactical....
It's handforged from 52100, 6 3/4" blade, 6mm thick, about 42mm wide, total length of 29,5cm and convex "apple seed" grind. The soldered guard is from O1 and handle from rubber.
Rodrigo made some cutting and stabbing tests, no need to say that it will easily penetrate a small town telephone book or 20 layers of thick leather, it also will serve, if needed, as ladder for a 230lbs guy.
I think the comandos in WW2 would have been happy to count on a daggar like that
