I have a Combat Elite Tactical Elite Level 2. I was wondering if anyone has tested or reviewed this knife. The blade in particular, it is 440C-OS and I have heard this is heat treated and mabey has an addidtive that differs from standard 440C. Any comments ? In my opinion it performs well and takes a wicked edge. It is a very light knife overall, thin and easy to carry. The framelock locks up tight with no blade play. Fit and finnish excellent. Customer service is by far the best I have ever had. Just my opinion. :D

Of course we'd love to see your review of it.
I just became aware of Combat Elite and was VERY impressed with the RRF that ErikD was generous to passaround ...

PICS...we need PICS too

I have seen a review of the Combat Elite folder, but don't recall where. The thinly ground edge worked pretty well on the model #3 I owned. Darrel Ralph would be glad to tell you some about the blade steel if you contact him. It might also be on his website.

Well. this week I will exclusively use it to see how long it will keep it's edge and how well it performs to different everyday duties. I'll keep you informed. :D

Well, its been a little more that a week and I am finally finding the time to post a review. Here we go.

Overall- This knife is very light weight and un-obtrusive in your pocket. This is the level two model with out the G-10 inserts. It has a very thin width a little over 3/8" wide. So,IWB is very comfortable and you'll forget it is there.

Blade- This model has the 440C-os version of steel. At, first I was iffy about this compared to the cost of this knife(approx.$325) Well,I used this knife and compared it to my Manix in s30v. It was easy to sharpen and held its edge for a fairly long time. I used it mainly to cut cardboard and rope, with some wood here and there. It took one of the keenest edges I have ever had, shaving hair very smoothly both with the grain of the hair and against the grain. I cut mainly box type corrugated cardboard, after about 10 boxes it would still shave, after about 35-40 boxes it was sharp but not shaving. ( was cutting these boxes into 4 pieces.) I found that the blade could keep up to my Manix, but in the end the Manix's edge held its edge longer, but I was not dissapointed with this steel at all. A slightly steeper angle may Have helped as far as holding a sharp edge even after shaving was not possible.

handle- very smooth would have liked to have a grippy grip to it, mabey the G-10 inserts would have helped.

Clip- Left something to desire. I would have like to be able to revese sides.

Conclusion- I was not dissapointed at all. This is my first semi-custom EDC and I am throughly impressed with the fit and finish and cutting ability. Thank you Combat Elite! :D :D
