What exactly is combat grade? I just bought a M9 that is coated and I'm just curious. Thanks for any help...Jim

It means Garth tested it by splitting a skull of some poor unsuspecting Buckeye in the back of the shop. ;)

It is just SRKW's normal grade of knives. Sometimes we get LE-grade knives - polished/satin look. SR101 is a bit stain-prone so the coating makes it battle-ready for a tough environment.

Good grab on the M9. They made an M9LE. I had one but sold it b/c I didn't want to use it. Coated big Swamp Rats are great knives.

As far as I know, it's the coating and the blade is a tad thicker than the LE.

Cool...anytime a buckeye gets whacked a Crimson Tide angel gets it's wings!!

I have an M6 I've had for a few years and it's great. I just wanted a BIG chopper and almost bought something else...glad I waited.

Thanks for the info guys, I really appreciate it.....GO BAMA ROLL TIDE!!!!

Less time goes into finishing up the CG blades, they are work horses so they are rough finished and then coated in crinklecoat.

Here is a shot:thumbup:

Full height grind on the LE's and saber for the CG's.
