I'm kinda new at my Busse addiction. Two months into it and i have Skinny Ash ,A Game Warden, a skelly Warden and a FBM CG on the way,i know this is a stupid question, but what makes the knife COMBAT GRADE, i can't seem to figure that one, i thought it was the grooves on the blade, but then i've seen others advertised that didn't have grooves, what gives? G.M

CG means that the knife has a coating on the blade. But an LE FBM will be a satin finish. Now I'm not sure how it goes for the smaler knives but that is what it is with the FBMs.

coated blades are combat grade and or military overuns.

Satin finished blades are either limited edition's (LE's), special editions (SE'S), proto's, or from the Custom Shop.

as mentioned, CGs are usually coated but can also be double cut (bead blasted) and in rare cases satin. currently the limited editions have the satin finish and magnum tigerhide scales.

Thanks for the info guys, so is there any special disignation for the grooved blades? don't mean to be a bother, just want to know what i'm talking about, thanks again, G.M

Not sure what you mean by "grooved." Are you talking about the serrations on some edges which are to be used for tearing or ripping? We refer to knives with those serrations as Nukes or Nuclear. ie. Nuke Badger or Nuke Hell Razor.

If you mean the bevels on the flats of blades like the CG FBM or the Jackhammer, those are referred to as CBT or corrugated bevel technology, and those are actually on the knife to strengthen the blade. It's difficult to explain, but I'm sure someone around here can do a better job than me, so I won't even try.
