I am the new owner of a Combat Karambit. The linerlock is very stiff and hard to close with only one hand. It is eating up my thumb! And the blade is stiff even after I loosen the screw, even until it is almost coming off. Is this typical of a Emerson knife? Other than that, I like this knife alot! Thanks in advance.

if ya run the lead tip from a #2 pencil across the liner it will lube it and smooth it out, with use everything will smooth out though (usually anyway).

consider taking it apart really quickly, understanding how to put it back together, and lubing the blade/handle pivot areas. If worst comes to it, run over it on a low Dremel Setting with a fine sandpaper attachment, only around the blade pivot area, and then run along the handle pivot area if necessary.

Thanks for the tips guys. I took it apart and lubed it. After many openings and closings its getting better.

Are all Emerson's very stiff when they are new?

no some are silky smooth. I have noticed that this is a problem iv eonly had with the karambit. karambit was my edc knife for awhile, until i lost it after i broke the tip (it was a bad day). It will break in pretty well though. My super-7 is the smoothest opening knife ive owned
