Combat Mofo Grind?

Did the Combat Grade Mofo (double-cut finish) come with an asymetrical or symetrical grind - I'm at a loss from looking at it.

My Mofo's have since left the nest, but my standard CG (black crinkle) and the Desert Mofo both have the zero edge. The standard is the most telling since it was a regular production knife.

How many of the black MoFo's were made???

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but the bead blasted Mofo's were symmetrical convex and the LE Mofos were zero edged. As for black crinkle coated Mofos, I haven't seen any. If someone has one, let's have some pics.

I thought zero edge and double convex were the same. The grind on my Desert and regular Mojo look the same. To the naked eye anyway. No pics, but I believe Guy has some or at least used to. There are some at Bad Mojo.

I believe that Wetdog is commenting on the Mr. Mojo and Desert Mofo. I don't think there were any Mofo's that were coated in black (only desert)

The zero edge can only be done correctly on an uncoated knife as the edge is blended into the blade. If this were done on a knife with coating it would look really bad. There is often confusion between symmetrical convex and zero edge. The way I understand it is that the zero edge has no "shoulder" to the edge it is completely blended into the primary grind of the knife. A symmetrical convex edge still has a definite distinction between the edge and the primary grind. I believe the Tactical Mofo's were symmetrical convex and the LE's were all zero edged.

I hope this is correct, if not someone please jump in and help me out

:D:D

I'll have to get a loupe and look again. My Mojo is a standard production with the black crinkle coat and kydex sheath. The Desert Mofo is a limited offer blade from the overrun races awhile back.

No idea how many black mojos were made. It was a standard Busse catalog item, discontiued I think in Feb 2002. All the others mentioned in this thread were made in limited quanities to one degree or another.
