I remember back in the 80's in a combat or knife magazine, there was a guy running around singing the praises of a katana combat sword and I think his name was Jerry Busse. Is this THE Jerry Busse?

I though the RUCK was a combat sword.

Well to be exact, a field combat sword...
I am ultra satisified with it but would always welcome another addition to the Busse sword family.

Uncle Jarvis--- So, it was the Ruck. I read the article and I'm pretty sure the guys name was Jerry Busse. Am I right? Probably not!

I have no idea about the article but I do know the Ruck is a field combat sword.
It would be sweet to see some new variations of this blade. BARF serrations on half the blade would be pretty sweet.

Gut-Barf serrations! The ruck is smaller than the AK-47? My longest is 25". 10" handle. Hell, I'm still waiting on the GW, and I'm talking swords. GAK!

The American Kensei was the original Busse Sword. Then came the AK-47, then the ruck.

Mschwoeb---That's It! The Kensei sword! Thanks. I wonder if Boss still has that sword? Hmm.

You mean this?

Overall 25 1/2 "
Weight 31 oz
Thick 1/4 "
Steel A-2
Rc 58-60

My favorite Busse set

Why was the Kensei discontinued? That is a good looking blade. Bring that one back. Kenseinfi.

congrats you must be one happy camper
i wish i would have discovered busse before i did
but better late than never eh :D

Wow Deusker- those are SWEET! Thanks for posting- that's some history there, baby!

Don't forget the Dragon's Fang. That was the biggest Busse sword to my knowledge. So chronologically did it go American Kensei, Dragon's Fang, AK-47, then the Ruck?

I think Jerry use to make hugh swords in the past...things you would see during re-inactments and such.
