I have really been wanting to get a Combative Edge M1 partially serrated. Anyone have one? What is the quality level? Do you suggest it?
Thanks

I have a plain edge M1. Very high quality fit and finish, befitting a $175 knife. Great ergonomics. Customer service is excellent as well. I highly recommend it.

I didn't like mine. Nothing was wrong with built quality, but design wasn't for me. Flipper was a bit too short and I couldn't flip mine comfortably without wrist action. When opening knife using thumbstuds, flipper got in a way. I'm used to smaller knives, so your experience may vary. Fit and finish is good.

Yea im used to bigger knives. My usual edc's are CRKT Crawford Kasper, ZT 0300, ZT0200, and a ZT 0400 to name a few. Its good to know that the flipper gets in the way. Thanks. Did you sell it already?

If you talk to Rob about it. The Flipper isn't REALLY a flipper... It CAN be a flipper, but it's mostly just a nice guard. I use the studs without issue. Great knife for the money, great company, with an awesome guy as the owner. It fits nicely in your pocket with the slim profile and low rider clip. Coating also wears minimally compared to most.

I find that just a slight nudge with the finger of the "flipper" and a flick of the wrist and it opens real quick and easy. It is a large knife, but quite thin, like the Spyderco Military. Here's a pic to get you by until you get one.

I bought one of the part-serrated M1s just over a year ago, and have EDC'd it ever since. I now have two more-so you can guess my opinion.
I own examples of most of the better-known tacticals, but the M1 is top of the heap, IMHO.:thumbup:

Thats good to know. I really want this knife. Hows the pocket clip? Is it big? Under duress i want something that will have enough surface are that, when I go to draw it, i cant find it.

Why not go to the source and get a brand new one? Rob is a great guy to deal with, and will stand behind his knives 100%.

I've pared down my collection of tactical knives quite a bit, but the Combative Edge is one that I will refuse to part with . . . ever. Great fit and finish, I really like the N690 blade steel, and the ergonomics are spot on. A really great user all around. Cuts like a champ and locks up strong. I really dig it.

Also, I got STR to make me a sweet custom clip. Now it's dialed in just the way I like it.

Super good knife all around!

Hmm maybe I'll just hold off and do that. Buying a preowned one would just save me money. times are tough. Im going to get it, its just a matter of when and how.
