I've made a few Combo Sheaths over the last year .
When I say " Combo " I mean Folder - Flashlight combinations , what got me interested was a couple of pictures of Gary Graley's Combination sheaths in one of his tutorials at the top of the forum page .
I've found that they are a really handy way of carrying a knife - flashlight and I've actually nicknamed one of mine my BBQ sheath , because it is the best thing to have on your belt when going out at night to a friends place for a Barbecue , I never go to a BBQ without it now .

Mine are based on my ever faithful SAK's , but I was wondering if others have any Combination Sheaths that they would like to show .
I think any sheath that pairs a knife of any kind Fixed or Folder with anything else Flashlight , Fire starter or Sharpener for example is a combo .

Let's see what you've got .

Here is a couple of mine .

is there a like button? ;) nice one. did you glue the leather bit at the bottom of the flashlight?

The bottom of the flashlight sheath is plugged with a 6 layer thick leather plug .
I glued 6 layers of leather together and then used a hole punch to make a plug of leather . It was luck that I had a correct sized punch . The plug was forced into the tube with force and a little bit of glue as a backup .

Thanks guys .

I'd still like to see any combo sheaths others have made , so if you have something post it up .

well, i am already considering making one for a knife + flashlight, got to learn/try about wetforming first though. after my bracelet it's the next thing on my "to try" list.

Beautiful work Ken!. Really like the idea of the flashlight plug. I've not really made anything similar. The closest is what I call The Pack Pac. It is for my Sonoran Hunting set consiting of The Sonoran Belt knife, Sonoran Hunter and Sonoran Skinner. The Belt knife is worn in a Horizontal crossdraw sheath and the two larger knives are carried in the pack in their Pack Pac until needed.

Here's the inside:

The Skinner and Hunter face each other with their edges to the inside. There is a communal welt shaped like an upside down rounded T if that makes sense.

Dave ,

I would definitely call that a combo sheath , and as usual it is of the highest of high standard .
Any chance if seeing the knives themselves to see the differences and what the three knife combo is made up of .

Thanks Ken. Here's all three together.

This set is handled in Merino sheep Horn, has Loveless bolts with nickel silver bolster on the two larger knives and brass on the other. The blades on the Hunter and the Skinner are A2. The Skinner is at 62RC and the Hunter is at 61RC. The belt knife is AEB-L at 62 RC. I've made 3 or 4 of these sets and am working on one right now, as they are kinda pricey I don't sell a bunch of em.

The set comes with an individual sheath for each one too.

Great thread! I had never thought about combo sheaths before, and I am really impressed!

Made one a while ago for a knife and ferro rod:

I had some leather that had holes from staples and impressions in it.

And a 'survival' sheath for a mate, with sharpener & fire steel at the front

and ESEE arrowhead at the back

And attaches to a drop loop that has Altoids tin pouch.

Never seen a tin incorporated into the system. Nice addition to the survival aspect. :)

Original intention was to put a torch and spare battery holder, but I wasn't sure if we had any of the same torches. He didn't know about the tin pouch until it was all done ;)

Great friend, you.

Btw, I love your avatar. Bethesda is supposed to make an announcement at e3. :)

my turn ;)
got this done yesterday... i pretty much eyeballed the whole layout, still works good enough i guess. punching 2 holes and cutting inbetween does not seem to work too well... maybe i messed up.
also there is this whole issue with how eco flo behaves on wet formed leather... it suddenly developed a metallic sheen and the leather didn't take the color well. no clue why this happened, might be the piece of leather.

also i don't seem to be able to take proper pictures due to camera/lightning, sorry for that.
