I was looking at The Benchmade 710Hs

But relized that it is just to big for EDC in the city.

so what do you guys think of a

and

a

Spyderco Black Blade Endura

This way I have and can try an axis lock and can have a 4" folder if needed when doing outdoor stuff.

Or should I just go with the 710HS

I hate this can not decideing business

sorry to NGK and AHS for stealing the pics

The inevitable reply will be: get all three! :D

Really though, they're all good knives and as long as the blade length poses no legal problems, go with what you really want.

Yeah, that's a pretty hard choice.

If you haven't already experienced the Axis lock, I would take the 705.

Both are great knives and seem like a nice combo for your needs. The 705 may be great by itelf. It's one of those 'little, big' knives that packs a puch in a smaller knife. I've carried mine in an office environment and it performed well for the little tasks (cutting an apple, sandwiches) to bigger jobs (cutting cracked wood from a damaged desk, cutting through packaging twine) without a problem. Sometimes I leave my larger blades (endura, CQC-11, whatever I have that day) in the car and feel prepared enough with the 705.

Well I just have a

Spyderco Para-Military
Calypso Jr

I wanted to get a bigger Blade one of 4" but not for everyday. Maybe if I go camping or stuff like that. Have something with more leverage.

and then a good blade like the para but with a axis lock. Everybody says how good it is and I have never even tried it.

what I cut on a Normal day

Cat 5 cable
open boxes
open packages
twine or wires/strings/cables
envelopes
hard to open packages.
food and stuff instead of using teeth

im sure there are more that is just what i could think of.

the limited edition 705's d2 is harder and more wear resistant than 154cm, the down side, it'll rust a little easier and maybe a little more brittle. (it pits)
vinny, what's with you and black blades? the first cut through cable/cardboard will scratch it, esp benchmade's teflon

well idk, alot of people say the benhcmade satin changes from knife to knife. So idk, im sure it looks nice, but is it better than the black. I mean if i can find a decent store with a Benchmade 710 Plain edge for like $110 or under i would take it. but all of these stores have these horrible restocking fees. Not that I would return the kniofe just its easier to deal with reseller rather than main company.

it wont look as battle worn when satin is scratched. the spydie will have the same finish as the caly you have. the bm will be a tad shiner

well the para coating is tuff stuff. Ive cut alot and have had no scatches, and when i do they come off. I like the spyderco coating

the para is dlc, or diamond like coating, hard stuff..
the bm is teflon and have you ever seen teflon pans after a while? they look like war relics
