Anyone have a Spyderco Delica Combo edge? My mom ordered one for me, and I had really wanted a plain edge. Is it still useful with the combo edge?

I feel stupid. The picture was of a SpydieEdge, and it was all serrated except by the tip, where there is a quarter inch of plain edge, and i thought that was spyderco's meaning of combo so i thought that was pretty useless, but i looked up Delica combo edge and saw that the real combo edge has a half-and-half.BTW: the gerber is useful...but since it's my nicest knife...I don't use it much
I found out my mom actually was bidding on e-bay for a Delica and it was $25.00...she lost
it just ended and some jerk just came up and won it.Oh well..

since ebay isnt an option, anyone know a place i can get a delica with the FRN handle for under $35?

personally, my opinion on combo edges is anything under 4" isn't suited to it... like the military is stated as 50/50 but is 1.5(se)/2.5(pe), thats perfect.

NeedleRemorse, don't worry. you will find that combo edge very useful. i own a Leek and an M16 in CE, and they're great. while i still prefer PE, i often times find some materials which are very thick, and require the more aggressive serrated edge in order to cut. it sure beats lugging around a PE AND a CE. you're gonna love that Delica... just be aware, you're gonna want a million Spyders now!

Great. As if I didn't want enough of the Arachnid-spiders ( I also keep tarantulas). My hobbies are getting expensive

yah, fair warning... it all starts with a delica, endura, military or cricket... and goes downhill...
aug 99 to now, 25 or 26 spydies so far, with 2 now on order from local, and another one coming up here for a christmas gift...
