i keep hearing people on this site say that a sharpened plain edge can do everything a serrated edge can, is this true? i kinda feel like if a knife is for utility, shouldn't it have the most edges possible to meet a wide variety or needs? like ive never been able to cut a branch or thick rope with a regular edge knife, am i just doing something wrong?
