I'm considering dumping MCI DSL, for the comcas cable inetrnet.

Anyone have it, what's your experience?

How good is the customer service?

How quick to they resolve probllems?

Thanks

I've been on comcast for roughly 1.5 years and will never go back to dial up. The service is excellent and customer service has always been quick to respond one the few times I needed them.

Been on Comcast cable for almost two years now, and I'll echo what you saw above: great service (maybe five hours of downtime all told, and 4 of that was a one shot problem), good support, and more than competitive with DSL price wise. Add the fact that although I get at least five DSL offers a week, I STILL can't get it and cable has been a blessing :)

My daughter has had it for about a year without any problems. Her download speeds are 2X my DSL.

So far so good, I have had a few outages over the years, the longest being less than a day. My problem was the fact that they couldn't provide a static ISP address so we had to switch to Surewest fiber optic for our house in Sacramento. So far Surewest has been excellent and even faster that cable modems, and the television service is clearer as well.

We've had Comcast cable-tv and broadband internet since Jan. '03.

Billing was a nightmare for about 8 out of the ensuing months. It was a f*ckup from the beginning, and believe-it-or not took 8 months to finally become glitch-free. It was seriously like a comedy of errors, where each month's attempted billing fixes were f*cked up again and again.

On the bright side, have had little or no down time whatsoever, and regularly average 2.7-3.0 Mbps download. Blows away any DSL I've used.

I have been on Comcast for better than 4 years in as many different locations. The customer service quality differs from location to location but downtime is a rarity and I've always been pro-rated any missed time. I currently haven't had downtime for more than a year, which was when I first moved into my new house. Currently Comcast Cable is much faster than DSL. That and the fact of price cuts when you bundle the service with your cable TV is pretty nice.

Thanks for the replies, I ordered it today.

Looks like the billing fun has already started. They have
the start up cost as almost $600. I add up the numbers and get $240.

Edit, they didn't know why my invoice was for $600 but they assured me it was really for $200
