Comcast did you say ??

I am not a huge comcast lover due to some of their billing rigidity. They claim I have equipment that I do not and keep billing me month after month. This has been going on ever since comcast started reviewing their arrangements with customers. I have had TV with them for probably 15 years and I think this is going to end very shortly. Eventually I would like to switch to some sort of cafateria plan that might be internet based. Will be watching as things develop in that regard. But basically, the bill in its current form is too damn high for my usage.

When I give them the word in a couple weeks, I will be curious how they react. Then I'll haul all their "stuff" to one of their offices and turn what I have over to them.

I'd ask where the person was located so I could give them the answer face to face.

I'd bring a lawyer along as a witness, same with Mete up top, as I wouldn't put it past them to simply play stupid and say that they never got any such equipment or statement that you wanted your internet service cancelled.

Every once is awhile we hear of a similar story. Sometimes it's a cable company and sometimes it a satellite company.

What's kind of funny is that the various services tell us how much better they are than the competition, when the truth is that they are all crap.
I have not seen any cable or satellite company with good ratings.

I worked at a call center for a couple of years. It was a very interesting experience to be certain, and coincidentally it was for Comcast. We serviced accounts in the inland empire of California. I started in sales, then moved to quality assurance. You meet so many interesting personalities as customers and your fellow coworkers. I remember some really nice people and some complete psychos on the customer end. We had a script of sorts, verify information for mailing list building, try to up sell the caller 3 times (we had to get a solid no on each attempt), and verify the order and ask if anything else was needed. The stress is multiplied the longer you are there. The incentives are often very poor as you earn minimum wage or slightly more not including commission. Ah, the good old days. The rep on the phone must have thought he was some kind of call saver. He was absolutely trying to prove his intelligence and ability to his coworkers, I would not doubt if several people were y-jacking in on that call.

I turned in all my Comcast equipment about a week ago. Usually when you go to the main office, the place is wall to wall people in line for whatever reason. I think there were two people there when I visited. Dumped my stuff off. Verified that they have no other equipment listed in my name, and left. Now I am waiting to pay my final bill. I assume the bill forward rather than for services already used so the bill I have should not be correct.

Went to Amazon Prime and Hulu through a Roku box. Haven't missed regular cable. Amazon gives you alot with Prime not just video.

You should try AT&T. For as bad as they all are at least the comcast where i am at least works.

Worse experience i ever had with a service provider was ATT. In college they didnt disconect my phone when i left an apartment eveb though i called and told them to terminate service. Someone moved in next door and plugged into the terminal outside and charged nearly $1000 using 10-10-220 long distance calls. Luckily the hr director at the place where i worked knew someone at att to help me get it fixed otherwise i was screwed. The person that ran up the charges was only there for about a month .
