Does this mean that mine will be shipping soon from 1sks?!
I hope so as I was starting to get emotional about it and my Master Guns was asking me what was wrong...
when i told him I was still waiting on my fighting hatchet, he just looked at me like I had slept with his daughter. My Lt. then asked what I needed the hatchet for and I told him...
"cut open my MREs with, sir...:D
God...did he love that!!

I phoned 1sks today to check on the status of my order, should ship later this week!

Just one question, what color is the finish on these? It's a little hard to tell from the photos I've seen, it seems to be a brownish gray.

I'm thinking about either adding a green linen micarta handle or maybe doing a tsuka "influenced" wrap, though I might need to do some grinding for the later to work well... Guess I'd better to wait until it actually arrives before trying to figure out how to modify it :)

1sks also has the LE Hayes in stock, very nice, too bad it's the wrong month to buy more presents for myself.

Crowinghorse...

Good to see you bro. Yes, it means that if you have had on order with 1SKS or Brigade, they will be shipping pursuant to there terms for in stock product. They both have the product at this time.

Hadron...

The pics of the Brend Hatchet all over the web are of the pre-production finish, which was parkerized. It looks kind of slate gray and the 1050 isn't the easiest to park, so I'll admit it can be a bit uneven.

The final production version, which has shipped to dealers, is our black poly tex-coat, used on our Vietnam Tactical Tomahawk. It is not epoxy powder and does not chip like epoxy powder. As our products are primarily impact oriented instruments, the epoxies don't work well for us, but the "polys" do.

Big Target and All Brend Hatchet retail customers...

The direct orders we have received for Brend Hatchets will be shipped and arriving on doorsteps next week.

Other dealer customers taking receipt at that time include The Cutlery Shoppe and 2TheHilt!!! :)

1SKS.com should have the new pic up today or tomorrow of the Black Tex-Coat. It's ten times nicer looking...
