Does any body here wish case would take a muskrat blade and put it in the 47 pattern stockman. The muskrat is basically the 47 pattern with two springs and two muskrat blades. So it should be easy to slide the muskrat blade inplace of the clip. How about adding a punch too! So come on case give me some variety!

NO!!!!!!!

If you want a stockman with a long, slim, clip blade get a Case 3318.

If you want a knife with a muskrat blade get a muskrat knife

By the way, the newer 47 pattern stockman knives have 3-springs. The older 47 pattern stockman knives have 2-springs.

If you don't like Case's offerings, look to Schrade, Camillus, Frost, Rough Rider, Rigid, Buck, etc..

Case also offers stockman knives with a punch.

No need to mess up a great pattern like the Case 47 pattern - just look around and you'll most likely find exactly what you're looking for.

As an optional choice in the '47 stockman, I wouldn't see any harm in offering it to those who'd want it. But I'm with Ed^ otherwise, in that I like the clip that's already in that knife. My main complaint about muskrat clip blades is their very narrow width (spine to edge), which means the edge thickens pretty quickly over time, as the blade gets sharpened. I have a handful of blades like that, and they all get more difficult to keep a thin edge on, as the 'working edge' moves up into the thicker part of the blade. The standard clip on the '47, especially the very thinly-ground hollow in the current generation of these, stays pretty thin for a good ways above the cutting edge. These thin, high hollow grind clips are fantastic slicers, and my favorite steak knives for that very reason.

Well, this is a Case SS 3347 Large Stockman. The clip blade on this knife while not as slender as that of the Muskrat is very graceful and sweeping in appearance.

Yes, guess you could substitute a muskrat blade for this clip blade but for my .-2¢ it would ruin the knife/pattern.

You could always buy one of each, take them apart, and make two Frankenknives out of them.

I'd like one too. Not much around set up like that either, at least larger than 3 5/8". However, what do you think of the 3301CG - COLORED STOCKMAN 3-7/8" from Moore Maker? Sorry for lack of pics, I'm on my phone.

They cannot make everything. But...I am sure any number of custom makers would be more than happy to make anything your heart desires. :D

I have a #6301 Moore Maker 3-7/8" stockman in stag, and love it. They have the slender clip and the sheepfoot nick on the mark side, my favorite.

Case did indeed used to make exactly what the OP is looking for. PAttern # 63047 with "California Clip" master blade as Case used to call it. Discontinued mid 1980's.
