I'm in Virginia beach, and it doesnt look that bad compared to some of the cat. 3 predictions that were made a few days ago... but i'm sure we'll lose power for a few days :( Hope that doesnt interfere with the alaska ganza!!!
 
Kinda funny though, all of us in FL are sitting dry right now while the folks up north are getting hit by a hurricane. Best of luck to everyone in the path of the storm.

Nobody alive in the NE has ever seen a storm of this magnitude. Not exactly your run of the mill hurricane. Better be safe then sorry. I stocked up on A LOT of water though today and food for the baby-i'm good for a month. Flashlights, batteries, ferro, 2 existing bug out bags always ready; but in reality when the possibility of such chaos exists- imho you only need to ensure you have an abundance of two things. #1. Water and #2 ammo. Good luck and be safe to all of you.

I am riding it out down here on the south jersey shore. I am about 4 miles inland. Preps have been made time to "BRING IT".

All's well. No trees in the house, POWER'S STILL ON!! :thumbup:, dry basement... Cable's out...but if that is the worst of Irene, then no complaints here! ...Besides, still got the Droid phone to get me online. :)

Hope everyone fared as well!
 
Just another day in paradise here in MD. Absolutely beautiful day today. No power, but its so nice outside.
 
Glad to hear everyone is ok. I lost cable for 10 hours. Never lost power. Storm surge and flooding were minimal. I had a hard time finding a downed tree.
Talk about lucky. It seemed like areas inland received the brunt of the rain and flooding.
thoughts and prayers to all who caught this one on the chin.
