Before you get your hopes up , I am talking about leather punches . I have two different sizes . Sometimes I want a little smaller or bigger and am too cheap to buy a punch for each size . Does anyone make their own ?

I,m not talking forging here , I,m not ready for that yet . I just wonder if there is a way to take existing tubes ot small piping and rig it into a punch ?

Sure...get an assortment of pipes and simply bevel the edges.

Isn't that what everyone does?

 heck of a way to treat a good meershaum! :thumbdn:

small steel tubing would be better :D

I took Dan's advice and started using my drill press. I got tired of breaking awls and bending rotary punch tools.

Apparently there are good rotary punch tools out there . Whenever I go to a leather shop they swear their model is indestructible .

I don,t have a drill press . I do have a dremmel . I think the make your own solution is the winner if I can scare up the right size tubing .
