Hey guys and gals. Note my username has changed, but I/we are still here. LucyCustomKnives had to go the way of the dinosaur since we are operating as a real business these days under the name Overmountain Knife and Tool. But I'm still here reading, and not posting... Lol.
Most of what I would have to say is usually covered by those far better written than I. But over on our brand new sub we are planning on hosting discussion of all things Knife business related that normally wouldn't fit in with the posts and responses here. Chris H. and I, as well as a few others proposed such a sub some time back but it never reallu got anywhere. Well, I figure now since we took the plunge and have our own sub it only be fitting I propose the idea of such discussion in a tucked away thread there. If that appeals to anyone let me know. We can try to make it happen. I've already posed the relevant questions to Spark, and I think it is doable. (Thanks @Spark for helping us out etc.) We may even be able to require certain levels of membership to access it, but I think that would depend on interest and the type of discussion within. I don't claim to know this business much more than anyone else, but will gladly welcome the assistance, insight and opinions of those who do. We have just been fortunate enough to have a few of our items picked up by retailers and a few custom jobs gain traction enough to sustain an honest to goodness business. And that is about all I'm qualified to speak on. But I will gladly share some of the many pitfalls we recently encountered. We have taken a European line of products through all the hurdles to enter the US market, and have dabbled in copyrights, trademarks and patents as of late. And we will gladly lend opinions and references on that part of it.
Otherwise just drop by over there to say hi. Anyone is welcome! And for those of you reaching the level where it is becoming more than a hobby and your membership here allows it, come speak to us. We might be able to help you get your stuff out there.
