Comforter - Duvet? Where?

I have used some good Duvet's in Europe and would like to get one for home use now that my rectangular sleeping bag is worn out.

What I am finding locally in stores seems way over priced. What I think I want is a good comforter with a synthetic filler like you get in modern high quality jackets (Polar Guard 3D, Primaloft, etc.) Then I will put it in a good Duvet cover. I am willing to spend around $300 dollars for a quality model but, something that is basically two thin bed sheets with a good 4 ounces of down is a waste and not under consideration

My search in the forums didn't turn up anything relevant so, my apologies if this has already been covered.

Google up The Company Store.

That place looks pretty good. Do you have experience with their products? It looks like it might be a hidden gem sort of like the Five Brothers Shirts thread posted before Christmas.

As I recall, we bought our's several years ago on closeout from Sportsman's Guide. Could have been Sierra Trading Post, but I don't think so.

Good luck in your quest,
Bob

My mother loved The Company Store. Tonight, I shall bed down between two The Company Store sheets and under a The Company Store comforter in a The Company Store duvet cover, all gifts from my late mother.

I can certainly testify to the quality of their products.

Tonight I shall sleep under a Company Store Platinum Goose Down Comforter that MY mother(who is still with us) gave me, 10 years ago.

The Company Store's Custom Shop removed the down, added more, put on a new cover, and custom made me a duvet out of sheets in stock. This company is the best, great customer service, very fair prices, and they are not going to go out of business tomorrow(I hope). All custom services provided by Americans in America.

I spoke with them on the phone today. It took about 10 minutes of elevator music to get to someone with a heartbeat. Once that happened, he put me on hold and found the answer I needed. While I didn't like the long wait time, everything else went very well. I see one of their Primaloft comforters with a cover in my not too distant future.

and you may have to wait a while if you get something custom, but believe me, it is totally worth the wait!
