I'm making at least two of these. One for the monkey, two for the show, three if you're ready to toss me some dough. These will be $170 each, shipped within North America, and will be largely inspired by the changes made to the one in the quoted post below by the late, and well loved, Matt Freeman, aka Charlie Mike, aka Charlie Mike For The Win. Post in the thread if you want one, so I can know how many Spartans to order. They are the AUS10A version. I am also open to modding them differently, per individual requests, with the understanding the mods are stock removal only (i.e. not making new scales, or adding new finishes, other than satin). I will be changing the thumb plate to more of a thumb disk because in my experience they function much better that way. I will be placing the order some time next week.
I'd love a spartan made into a Charlie Mike style Fresno felon

ETA: Just to tie up the loose ends, all three Spartans have been modded and shipped to new owners.

I like very much that you’re going for it, but you lost me at replacing the wave. CM was a wave man and that’s an essential feature IMO.

You misread it then.

Perhaps you didn't. Maybe I simply didn't explain well enough.

jux t jux t Cold Steel's thumb plates have corners that can hang onto the pocket causing partial deployments and a knife stuck to your pocket half open, which is very dangerous. I know because it happened to me on the following models:

Large Talwar
Large Espada
XL Espada
Rajah 2

My solution was to round those corners on the plate so it would be more of a disk. The result is perfect snag free opening from the pocket. In my testing, the results were literally 100% success rate of waved opening after that change.

sure David would accommodate reasonable requests on these, wouldnt ya David?

i say jump in.....

I would, but the Currency Act of Canada states that it is illegal to "melt down, break up or use otherwise than as currency any coin that is current and legal tender in Canada"

In CM tradition, pushing the envelope but not crossing the law makes sense. He would open carry monster blades in California because you can, generally. Maybe you can get away with a franc?

Yes. Send me your Franc and if I can drill it, I will make it a thumb disk for your Fresno Felon Tribute knife. Actually send a Krugerand. ;)

Cool project and tribute! Sadly, I’m not in since I need to save up for some regrinds from you later.
