S35VN Steel:Green Canvas Micarta Handles

Really liking that handle material and glad to see them using different steels.

Oh no, there isn't a Buck 118 listed??????
LOL.

My first thought when I viewed these knives was that it would be nice to recreate the Buck two knife Sportsman set.

I can't do it with the 105 because it's too long.I have two old Twin Sets and one Trophy Set.I also have one Sportsman Set and I thought how nice it would be to have a modern version of the Sportsman Set.

Maybe in due time they will offer a 118 or even a new version of the Sportsman Set using these new Pro-Series knives. One can only hope.

I like the looks, but, I hear they are expensive compared to the old standard phenolic. I do like the feel of the canvas mikarta handles, though.

I’m interested/ intrigued by these, just not sure it will be a big enough improvement to justify the cost.

Realistically, the standard phenolic 100 series knives leave little room for improvement. Especially at their price point.

When are these coming, and how much more $ than a standard knife?

Based on the 105, the new micarta s35v is about 2.25 times as much as the standard 420hc phenolic knife.
This percentage works regardless of retail, or BCCI discount.

It's also about 1.7 times as much as the wood/brass it replaces.

I've field dressed many deer with a 420hc blade without having to sharpen the knife.
I agree, the new ones are cool. But I'm pretty happy with the the basic knife myself.
But then I've never used a s35v blade to process a deer either.
The s30v Alaskan Guide knives work great. I really doubt I need more than that.

I've more knives than I'll ever use as it is.

Someone will get one of these new micarta knives, take really great pics, and we'll all run out and buy 'em.
Trust me. I know how this works...:p I've done it many times myself. lol.

I swear Buck gives knives to folks here for that very reason.
Stay warm/safe.
Thanks.

Thanks.

No freebies, especially now. Or call, or a text back etc. Ok by me.
