Once again I have been very blessed to have the opportunity to serve Craig Nugent nugent_crai nugent_crai and Rich Lamiroult R RSL19 of Empire Outfitters, (and by extension, many of you as well) this time with a model exclusive to them, requested by Craig as a smaller version of the regular sized Insomniac. I am very excited about how these came out, and more than a little jealous at anyone who will end up carrying one. Rich is going to take the real photos with his keen eye for presentation, but for now, here are some pics from the shop and after finishing:

They are .094" AEB-L at 61 RC with 3.6" blade lengths. Oh yeah, and there is one 15N20 Midnighter Fighter that will be available from them as well, which is 8" of light and fast 15N20 goodness, also at the optimum hardness for that steel, of 61 RC. Check out Larrin's "15N20 Toughness" thread to learn why that hardness in 15N20 is so good.

Handle and blade are the same length. Most people will be able to grasp with all four fingers (I have large hands and can do so), but those with extra large hands will be able to rest the butt in their palm.

There would be plenty of room for my little ( medium mens) paws ! ☺️:thumbsup:

Very cool design. Had I not already spent a grossly irresponsible amount of money on knives this year, I’d be all over it.

I really like the double lanyard holes. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before. Did you have a specific purpose in mind for using two instead of one?

The truth is it is for aesthetics and because the butt of the knife is a bit wider so I liked the extra attachment to make it even less likely to delam.

These are an offshoot of the midnighter fighter which is much bigger and I have a tendency to double tube the butts of my bigger knives for extra handle integrity.
