My wife and I are leaving on Monday for a vacation in the USA. Starting off in the relatively knife-free NYC and then moving on to Missouri.

I don't think there is any better place in the world than the States to visit if you wanted to buy knives. Waiting for me in MO, I have a Ronin and a Centofante III. Also plan on getting a Chinook and will see what else comes along.

Oh boy, I can't wait to visit the USA :D :D :D

What part of Mo are you visiting......I live near Rolla, MO?
I might have some Spydies to trade

No shortage of knives to buy, that's for sure. They are dirt cheap here too, compared to what I have heard people have to pay elsewhere (which often involves international ordering). There is hardly anything you can't get here for 35-40% off of MSRP if you look around enough or mail order.

I also like cars, watches, and flashlights. But with those things I can hardly find one I really like. Cars all suck for the most part (when I need a new car, I have trouble finding even one I like at any price, less so within my budget), even expensive ones, GOOD flashlights are limited in options (true anywhere though), and it seems like the few watches I really like are hard to find here. But even with double my income I couldn't buy all of the good knives that come along every year.

G27, we'll be in Belton MO for about a week. Will be travelling to other towns as well. How far is that from you?

Everything is so much bigger and cheaper in the States. Your dvds are also a heck of a lot cheaper, but you're on zone 1 and we're on zone 2. OTOH, if i get a multizone player then that won't matter :)

I'll be damned. Belton isn't all that far from here. Just a little bit south.

I sure hope y'all enjoy your stay. I'll see if I can't conjure up some nice weather for the occasion. Good hunting, as far as the knives go. Is there anything in particular you're looking to buy, or are you just going to shop around and see what comes up?

Andre, will you be flying in to Kanasas City? Also, what exctally is there in Belton? From a city boy perspective, it's just another town.

Zerileous, I have one of my best buddies in Belton. We are flying in through Kansas City. Met him on the internet on Glocktalk about 5 years or so ago. We been emailing each other every day. We finally get to meet face to face :D

Proud2Deviate, I already have a "shopping list", and then it's all about what i stumble into after that. It sure feels exciting though.

It's late Sunday night in ol' SA. Will be signing off now. Probably won't get on here until I find an internet cafe in NYC in a few days time. This is probably the most exciting thing I have ever done

Cool.
Have fun Andre.
Anyhow, if you have time in KC, you might want to check out the Country Club Plaza. Its about 6 blocks in size with ritzy shops and dining. Its a very unique place as I am told (but I am not that familiar with other cities to be sure). The KC Masterpeice has very good BBQ. Mcormic and schmicks has pretty good seafood for the middle of the continant. Otherwise I am not too familiar with plaza dining.

Also, the Nelson Atkins Art Musiem (blah cant spell, but thats close) is very good. It is near the plaza. It has one of the top five Asian art collections outside of Asia. So if your up for it, its a good place to visit.

Also, mass transit sucks in KC, so dont expect light rail or anything.

Enjoy Belton, I dont know much about it.

I'm about ~4 hours southeast of KC....down in the sticks. I have almost as many Glocks as Spyderco's that we could play with.....and even a few more pieces that are much more fun than Glocks.
Hope you have a nice trip.......just don't spend too much time in NY City.....it might change your thoughts of the US

It might raise your expectations of the rest of the country too highly! :D

Ya gotta say it twice!
