Uncle Bill -

I sent an e-mail, regarding some snail-mail sent yesterday (scheduled for Nov. 1). Since snail mail is now faster than my e-mail, thought I'd do another comm check to warn about the e-mail, which was to warn about the......Oh hell, watch your mail box:rolleyes:

...but we finally got some rain.

Bro who taught you to send smoke almost all the way across the country from Kaintuck? I understood that to be a lost art, but that one didn't need a really big fire to do it with.

Both are strangers to me - I went for too many years on four packs of Camels a day, and when I finally broke, the only thing in the same category was Prince Albert. My dad tried me on several brands, but most of them would fry the roots on a swamp mangrove. I went for a good six months between the Camels and the pipe, but couldn't hold it. My neighbors appreciated the pipe - looked dignified, and I quit barking at their cars.

My grand daddy Bill chewed and smoked both and they were my first attempts at using tobacco. This is going back pre WWII. The tobacco came in a foil lined paper pouch, maybe two inches square and about 6 or 7 inches tall -- also came in much valued about 8 ounce cans for nail, screw, bolt, nut, etc., storage.

"Never met a cowboy that couldn't be throwed, never met a horse that couldn't be rode -- never met an Indian who didn't love tobacco."

I hate to interrupt the tabaccy tangent this thread has taken... (I quit chewing when I was in the fire department and accidently swallowed a large plug of Redman when my truck hit a bump... it was about 110 degrees that day and I puked for about two hours)...

I am hating my mail delivery place today. Well, hate is rather strong... but my friend Doug hired on a new kid a couple of months ago. Today of all days, he picked to be hung over and came into work late. I can identify with his condition, however it meant that he missed the mailman...

Now I highly suspect the Mailman had BOTH my paycheck  and my new Sanu Jewel   so I am not happy today!!! AND it rained/snowed all day and the studio is freezing (no heat)..

Okay. Venting done :o .

Thank you... now back to your regular thread about tobbacco, brought to you by Phillip Morris :D
