I was able to get my knife back last night. So I figured I'd give you guys a first hand look. I was supposed to get scales but my friend Tom said there wasn't enough leftover material for him to do it. He did say to pick something out and he'd order it and when it came in he'd let me know. I'll be looking into that for sure. I was just happy to get this thing back.

Six titanium standoffs. Believe it or not, they do add weight to the knife.

While I was taking these pictures this lizard came along and smiled for the camera!

I know drilling through the knife voids the warranty but I gotta be honest, I was never sending this thing in for warranty. I'll buy the parts or if it's something I can't fix, I'll pay to have it fixed.

I'll have more pictures of Tom's stuff on another thread pretty soon. I'm not putting his pictures up to sell or anything I just think he makes some cool knives we can checkout.

Of course I'll be posting brand new Super Commander pictures as well! Tomorrow maybe?

So what do you guys think of the extra standoffs? Better blade protection for you back spacer guys. I'll tell you, it seems to add some real solidness or something to the knife. I love the way it feels and sounds when I open it with these added standoffs.

It definitely looks more balanced that way.

I would have definitely preferred if my tan handled CQC-7V had come with a back spacer or stand-offs like you have yours now.

I may have to do the same thing to mine, I don't like the way mine has four stand-offs (which seems like over kill, but what do I know?) all crammed together around the lanyard hole.

newknif it looks Great! Pimping it truly makes it your own Emerson. I have several that I have voided the warranty on, they look great and I'm sure I would have no problem selling them if I wanted, but by having them pimped I truly feel that the are "mine."
