greetings to all,

just a quick question. how much would a custom 2002 commander
fetch in the after market? or how about a custom cqc6 with a
bead blasted blade marked cqc7 instead? ive read in an earlier
post about the "elusive 2002 commander." what does that refer to
and why? thanks to all who can help.

I'm pretty sure that there aren't any custom commanders.
Only custom in commanders are the larger ESM-1 and some of the prototypes from the beginning of the commander era.

That 2002 commanders are elusive is just simply because they haven't been produced long enough to be available in a reliable way.

A regular 6 is about 1200, NO idea on the mismarked one's.

Jonas is correct, there aren't any "custom" Commanders. There have been some special run Commanders recently, TAD Super Commanders, 5 Year Anniversary Commanders, special run satin commanders for example, but no "custom". Maybe customized?

As far as the mismatched 7 blade in a CQC-6 handle, I have only heard of one. That truly is a rare bird!

Raye, it is a 6 blade mismarked by the laser guy. Was 5 or 6 for the NYC show a few years ago.

Hey Tat:

Where can I find a pic of one?

Do you mean there were 5 or 6 mismatched samples in NY?

Raye, David T has one of the Mismarked CQC6/7's. He would probably be happy to kite you out a photo if you asked him.

I believe he has already posted it several times.

thanx for all the info. i meant "custom" because that is what is
handwritten on the side of the box it came in. also, im thinking
"custom" or "handmade" as opposed to the production version out there. yeah, i have an ESM1 marked "emerson specwar knives" 2002. so, what would it be worth? i cannot say im knowledgeble as to the difference of all
the commanders out there. i always thought anything marked differently from the "emerson specwar knives" logo was considered production. isnt mine handmade by ernie? i guess you die hard emerson
fans would know better than i. thanx again.

Yes, if the blade is marked Emerson Specwar Knives, and it is labeled as an ESM-1 then you have a custom. It is something different than a commander. 2 different knives, although they look alike the commander is smaller than the ESM-1. Did you get it directly from Ernest?

thanx bh,

i had no idea there was a difference, but thanx for pointin
that out. no, i didnt get em from ernie. i bought em of a friend
of mine who forgot he had an order in four yrs. ago. when he got
em,he asked if i wanted to buy em. so i did. any idea on what its worth since they seem hard to come by?

ahhhhhh i bet about $2-$300, maybe if ya get lucky, EM me and i'll take it off your hands..............

oh well, cant tell a lie, i bet its worth at least $12-$1500, but thats a guess, never seen a ESM-1 for sale, myself......might be more, a great knife, ya lucked out imho.
