Just wondering if anyone else here has big hands, that also has an Emerson Commander? Just for reference, I'm 6'3", about 330, and wear a size 12 wedding ring :D I held one at a knife store one time, and seem to remember thinking the handle was uncomfortable, and too little. But, it might not have been a Commander. At the time, I was just being introduced to Emersons, and the guy helping me didn't know crap. Any help is appreciated.

Most people consider the Commander to be a large knife. It's larger then most of the other production folders on the market (not including the SIFU). In fact, they have released a Mini Commander for folks that think the Commander is too big.

If you don't think it's large enough, TAD is expecting even larger Commanders soon.

Take care

Hi BryanH

I'm roughly your size, and I find there to be ample room on a Commander. I don't consider it a large knife, but it certainly isn't the smallest either. I bet it will fit you paw, but you really should try one before you drop your hard earned dough!

hey, john h.....'course, i own a prod Commander, but i noticed that the SC comes with 50 pc const., or 150 pc. seems ta me that the more pieces, the more to go worng :>0. just wondering what EE's theory is on that................jp

2 BryanH:
My common problem with knives is that I have big hands too. For example Benchmade Axis 710 handle is a little bit small for me. I've to stick around with Spyderco Military till the moment I've bought Commander. It's handle ergonomics is perfect (at leat for me). Bottom line: Commander is big hand friendly :)

peter is now carrying a couple of commanders as his edc and thinks that they are an excellent size... although he wouldnt say no to a super commander!!! and he is 6'5"!!!
im sure you wont have any probs with size.

(if it doesnt fit you mabey you could try corrective surgery)

ps: the gerber a-f fits large hands well too

Just had to chime in here, as I've got some large hands myself. The Emerson Commander was without a doubt the most comfortable knife I've ever handled. I never realized what people meant when referring to a knife feeling like a "natural extension of the hand" until I picked up a Commander. I seriously doubt you'll have a hard time with the Commanders handle.

The 50 piece and 150 piece references are the initial production run. 50 Hard Chrome ("Satin") bladed, Green scaled and 150 Black-T blade and Black scaled.

The number of actual parts in those knives will be the same as a New Commander or a Mini Commander.

Just a word here about the Super Commander guys. I got home from EKI last night and got to play with the Prototype for the Super Commander. :D (Big F'n Grin) Your really gonna dig it and when your talking about haning large hands . . . LOL Wait till you see this one. :D

That's pretty low. You could have just said "you'd heard" or "I saw a picture" or even "I saw the prototype", but no you actually had to mention that you got to play with it.......

And then to add insult to injury you post virtually no detials in an almost dead thread.

Come-on spit it out. Let's hear the skinny. Overall impression, detials, ETA, etc.
