Commander in Moscow

I’ve bought Emerson Commander and I’ve just wanted to say that it’s quality is outstanding. I presume I’ve got second generation Commander – ribs on handle spine near lock, double bearing and all other features, which classify Commander 2000.
In locked position liner engages with blade at the very left of the blade, even if opened by means of WAVE. No bladeplay in any direction. Edge is razor sharp and cuts as crazy (I’ve tested it on my old leather boxing bag – bag is dead now

).
I’ve posted this message cause there are lots of negative replies on several forums concerning problems with quality controls at EKI in whole and low quality of Commander in particular. I just wanted to add my 0.02$ to positive posts about this outstanding knife.
By the way one can be interested in how much does it cost to buy Commander in Moscow, Russia - not cheap - 260$.

Glad to see you like it, Dmitry.

Welcome to the Emerson Forums. Is there a reason you chose the Commander over any other of the EKI line? Did you get to see the CQC-7 with the wave?

Not that the Commander isn't good it's awesome. It rides my right pocket all the time but I do have a Waved CQC-7 on my left and it comes in a close 2nd to my favorites coming from EKI.

I've chosen Commander cause I read lot's about it, history of it's creation and what's more it was single knife with wave feature. In fact it was single Commander in stock.I haven't an opportunity to handle waved CQC-7 (but I've seen non-waved one). It's very difficult to get Emerson knives in Moscow - all major knife e-shopes don't ship to Russia and local dealers don't have lot's of Emerson's. Most frequent are Spyderco, Benchmade and CRKT. Salesman in knife shop were I've bought Commander didn't even know what is wave feature for

!
He was very surprised when I've demonstrated wave opening for him

Welcome Dmitry!!

where did you purchase the knife my friend. You need to post a picture of you with the Commander outside the Kremlin or something like that . I know I would get a kick out of that ...

I used to be disgusted .Now I am just amused....I feel much better now that I have given up all hope

I've bought it in specialized knifeshop. We have lots of hunting/outdoor equipment shops (rifles, knapsacks, gear, boots, knives and etc.), several gun shops also selling knives, but only one special knifeshop - it has best choice and lowest prices (but I can't say that prices are low in common sence).
