commander vs mach 1

I am a new forum member and I am about to purchase my first emerson knife. The knife will be used primarily as a utility blade. (I am fortunate to live in florida so any defensive needs will be handled with my .45) however it is possible that the knife could serve as a backup self defense weapon.

Any thoughts commander vs mach 1 ???

Commander or Mach1

Of the two, I'd take the Commander. I prefer recurved blades and the "Wave" is really the ticket.

Of the two I'd have to agree with John, the Commander is the way to go.

As you are looking mainly at utility but with a defense backup, have you also considered the SOCFK ?
 
Buy a Commander. And then another Commander. And another. And then maybe one more. Just in case.
