I've had the Commander for over a year now and although I have a CQC6 and 8 and a Specwar, Production 7 and Raven I have found that for a folder the commander has served me well.

Beyond all of it's great features, agressive blade, tough handle and tight lock-up, it seems like the wave feature is often overlooked.

I remember when I was training to draw my folders quickly. I still can't get them out faster than the Commander. I've never had it open halfway (always completely deployed) and there's never been damage to my pants. It's one of the most innovative items on a knife I've seen. It's faster than getting an automatic, pulling out a knife then flicking it open and it rivals drawing a fixed blade!

You should see Spark walking around the office with his. He opens it about every 2 minutes! He loves it and says it it the best knife he has ever owned!

The Wave feature is waaaaaaaaaay Cool!

It's not the best knife I've ever owned, but it's solid, simple and dependable, and I like it a lot. It's my primary carry knife, and I use my Native for utility.

Put it like this: The Commander retired my DA SOCOM, and I really liked my SOCOM...

Plus, it's fun to open.

I saw Don Rearic's Commander at Blade. It is way cool the way and the quickness of the wave feature in deployment. I did notice that Don's Commander has a pretty loose pivot, meaning if you turn the knife upside down the blade would come out. Forgot to ask whether that came like that from the factory or adjusted.

The handle has great ergonomics for a defensive knife too.
